We work with many different companies in Ireland, providing solutions that meet clients needs exactly. See how we looked after 3 our our clients.
The Dublin Waste-to-Energy project is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) between Dublin City Council (acting on behalf of the four Dublin Local Authorities) and Covanta, a world leader in providing sustainable waste and energy solutions, to provide a sustainable treatment of waste that cannot be reused or recycled.
With Covanta’s old radio system not performing efficiently and causing health and safety issues Covanta turned to Lynn Communications to complete an onsite survey and make recommendations on how the system could be improved to create a safe and more efficient environment for staff.
Lynn Communications skilled engineers proposed a Mototrbo Capacity Plus system working alongside a distribution antenna system to provide the coverage our customer required. The distribution antenna system allowed our engineers to strategically place antennas around the facility both indoor and outdoor to achieve 100% coverage. While the Mototrbo Capcity Plus software handled all the communication traffic.
We decided to use the Motorola DP4401ex Atex radio for its robustness and intelligent audio which self-adjusts the volume to prevent users from missing incoming calls in noisy areas. Also the radios increased functionality means managers and team leaders can opt to talk to selected workers or communicate with the whole group or “All Call” features.
The system used the three existing Motorola DR3000 repeater on site which saved cost on the customer. We paired these with a combiner and three splitters. This along with Mototrbo Capacity Plus allowed seamless conversations with over 120 Motorola Atex radios on site.
We incorporated a man down feature into the system which allowed staff to feel safe when working alone or in dangerous environments as all emergencies were routed to the 24/7 control room.
The latest radio technology and system design from Lynn Communications enables facilities and management to liaise and collaborate with each other seamlessly.
Abbott established their first manufacturing facility in Ireland in 1974 in Sligo. With further investment, they transitioned from a manual to fully automated operation, with state-of-the-art automated manufacturing lines.
Our brief was to provide a communication system that provided 100% communication coverage throughout the factory incorporating man down and full indoor location tracking when an emergency was raised.
Following an extensive site assessment from our engineers we supplied Abbott with Motorola DP4401 and DP4801 handheld radios. These radios were fitted with K Term option boards along with a Motorola SLR5500 repeater and outdoor antenna and a Motorola DM4601 base station.
We paired the hardware with Mototrbo Trbonet software which included indoor mapping and alarm modules. Our engineers placed K Term indoor location beacons throughout the factory providing the location of each radio in the event on an emergency.
Once the system was installed and staff training was completed, the staff felt at ease working throughout the factory knowing that if an emergency was to happen help is always nearby and communication with staff members and management is seamless.
With the support from Lynn Communications, the factory has since upgraded to a second repeater adding more channels to an ever growing system.
As a leading thermal insulation manufacturer, with factories in Ireland and the UK, Xtratherm offers the construction industry a range of innovative complete solutions, encompassing roofs, walls and floors.
Xtratherm had an aging analog two way radio system that was starting to cause problem and become costly in repairs. The site has atex zones which caused health & safety concerns with the reliability of their existing atex units.
Following a thorough site assessment from our engineers we supplied Xtratherm with Motorola Dp1400 Digital radios for non atex zones and Motorola DP4401ex Atex for atex zones. For the majority of staff we supplied Dp1400 handsets, a very reliable, robust non display model ideal for use in warehouse and manufacturing settings.
For the atex zones we provided the Motorola DP4401 Ex – Series digital radio. These rugged radios have the highest ATEX rating. Meaning workers can use them in all weathers and in explosive atmospheres.
Both radios are extremely user friendly and for long shifts the powerful battery delivers extra talk time without the need to recharge.
